Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency welcomes flight route of Jakarta to Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.

Jakarta is ready to welcome tourists from Kinabalu

This international ro ute is the only direct flight connects Jakarta to Kinabalu or known as 'Negeri Di Bawah Bayu (angin)'.

Agency Head, Andhika Permata, said the opening of Jakarta - Kinabalu flight is a good news for Jakarta's tourism.

"Jakarta is ready to welcome tourists from Kinabalu with various or tourism such as urban, culture, shopping, culinary, golf and up to nature in  Seribu Island," he said, Friday (2/9).

Based on Statistic Center Board (BPS) data in 2023, Malaysia tourist was the most visit to Indonesia's predicate by total 16.28 percent or 1,901,242 people.

"The new route of Jakarta - Kinabalu is inline with Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry to reach 14.3 million of foreign tourists this year or 68 percent higher than last year target by 8.5 million tourists," he explained.

According to him, the first flight of AirAsia's Jakarta - Kinabalu from Soekarno Hatta Airport (CGK) to Kinabalu International Airport (BKI) has been starting since February 6, 2024.

"It is also hoped to strengthen good cooperative relations for the growth of tourism, economy and culture of the two countries," he hoped.
